On December 25, 1966, Harry Browne published the following letter dedicated to his then 9-year-old daughter. Today, it seems like an odd thing to write to a young child but the advice is remarkably powerful. Many of the difficulties that we have in life are due to the expectations that we have for other people. It rarely occurs to us that we have no right to expect such things from others and they have no right to expect them from us.
