Automotive Lust of the Day, Italian/American Mixed Marriage Edition: 1967 Iso Grifo GL Series I 327 4-Speed

Our subject car, which recently was featured on the auction site Bring A Trailer, is a fairly early 1967 model finished in a tasteful silver with a blue interior. It is equipped with a Chevrolet 327 cubic inch V8 and BorgWarner four-speed transmission. Most people outside of the car collector community are unaware of Iso Rivolta and its flagship Iso Grifo. This is unfortunate as this is one of the best GT cars ever produced and possibly the most beautiful. When the time comes to do something remarkable, building the right team is the best way to ensure success. When…

Automotive Lust of the Day, More Door Sleeper Edition: 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 Sedan 429 4-Speed

In the automotive world, sleeper is the term used for a fast car that looks like a slow car. This Galaxie checks all of the boxes, it is a factory-built big block with a four-speed wrapped in a full-sized four-door body.

Automotive Lust of the Day, Yeah, It’s Got a Hemi Edition: 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 Hemi Swap

This Dodge caught my eye because it is the spitting image of a car that I passed on in the late ’80s. That car was also a 1967 Coronet 500 in light blue with Cragar rims but it deviated in three specific ways. Most noticeably it was a convertible that eliminated the well-done C pillar in the interest of open-top motoring. It was powered by an angry-sounding poly 318 that came from a hot rod 60 Plymouth that rusted away leaving the engine. it also had a newer four-speed installed. The same guy tried to sell me a 1967 Coronet…

Automotive Lust of the Day, It’s Good to be Rich Edition: Rivolta GTZ, Zagato Reveals Spiritual Descendant of Iso Grifo A3/C

The Iso Grifo is in the top five on my all-time most beautiful car list. Italian styling powerhouse Zagato makes good use of a last-generation Corvette in creating a modern interpretation of the race version of the Grifo. A limited run is planned and about half are already spoken for. Christmas is coming so if you are looking for a stocking stuffer for me…

Automotive Lust of the Day, Terra Cotta Edition: 1960 Chrysler 300F

The Chrysler letter cars moved to a unit-body chassis/body design in 1960. The cars retained their RB engines with short and long ram versions. 1960-61 Chryslers have the most interesting instrument clusters in automotive history. This example is painted in one of the most unique colors available that year, ZZ1 Terra Cotta. It also features a long ram 413 (the runner separation seam runs the length of each intake port. This should be a strong showing. I can’t wait to see what this auction brings.
