Seventy-five years ago today (well technically, it started on the first), a major battle broke out between American veterans that had recently returned from World War II and the McMinn County, TN political machine. After going overseas to rescue the world from Hitler, these young men found that their own home was controlled by corrupt politicians that saw them as little more than a source of revenue. Settle in for a tale of good men pushed to their limits and what they did to defend liberty right here on American soil.
My favorite telling of the tale is by Matt Freeman and his sidekick Nick on the Statist Quo podcast. This is a not-safe-for-work version of the story, so best not to listen where delicate ears can hear.
The Resistance Library by Ammo.com also did a show on it.
This is an incredible story that is not taught in American history classes. It really demonstrates the reasons behind the Second Amendment.
